"Spring Flute Fling "

Announcing The Nashua Flute Choir's fifth annual Youth Soloist Competition. New Hampshire flutists are invited to audition for the chance to perform Mozart’s Concerto in D Major with The Nashua Flute Choir in our May 15th "Spring Flute Fling" Concert.

This year's competition will feature three winners from an open division (age 12 through college) to perform this concerto with flute choir accompaniment. Applicants should contact the NFC website for details. Please prepare THE MOVEMENT(S) OF YOUR CHOICE. You may prepare all the movements if you wish. Cadenzas are not required. We hope to have up to three winners, one for each movement of the concerto. If one player wins all three movements, the winner will have a fantastic, extended opportunity to showcase their talents for our audience.

Audition Requirements

Students must be New Hampshire residents. Recordings must be in CD format, clearly labeled with your name. Please include a sheet of paper with your full name, age, address, phone, email address and a brief biography. Students should have their flute instructor or ensemble director write a brief letter of recommendation to include with the application materials. A $10.00 application fee is required. Please make checks out to The Nashua Flute Choir, Inc. and mail with your CD and information.

Materials MUST be received by February 1, 2010. No late entries will be accepted.

Competition results will be announced to the winners in early February by telephone or email. The Nashua Flute Choir reserves the right not to choose a winner if in the judges' opinion, no player meets the performance standards.
